Spring is coming and I'm so happy about it

On our way to walk around The Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve over Spring Break, we came across this little plot of land, surrounded by burgeoning real estate beside and across from it, but still looking like a bit of country in bustling Davis County.
Take into account that I had to stand strategically to hide the huge power lines behind those trees.

Meanwhile, if you're ever in Layton, Utah, check out the Shorelands Preserve. But bring mosquito repellent. While we were fine during the first week of April, that marshy area looks like the perfect home for those blood-sucking varmint insects.
See the water covered in algae and who knows what else? Mosquito haven, I tell you.
But walking a mile along that boardwalk sure is fun.
Learn more about the preserve here.
