Book review: 'Scanorama: Amazing Animals' is another fun X-ray scanner book

We have a no-pets rule at our house. My husband and I think keeping four kids alive, fed, and somewhat well-behaved is all we can handle.

But my oldest loves animals. So this whole no pet policy we have going on just about kills her. Fortunately, she loves reading. And fortunately for her, I try to pick up a lot of animal books at the library and review as many as possible as well.

So she was quite excited when this book showed up in the mail.

"Scanorama: Amazing Animals" is another slider/X-ray scanner book. An no matter how many X-ray scanners they come across, my kids love each one. There are also several flaps throughout the book that showcase things an X-ray scanner wouldn't. My kids love those revealing flaps as well.

This book talks about the strongest animals, deadliest, biggest, longest-lived, the ones that migrate, are experts at camouflage, and many others. This is one of those books where, after reading it, kids will spout off random scientific animal facts for days. And those facts are very cool.

For kids who are interested in animals, or if you wish your kids were more interested than they currently are, this is a great book for them. The full-color illustrations and photographs are interspersed alongside easy to read facts. This book moves at a good pace that will interest, instead of bore, readers. In fact, reading this book will probably help steer kids to other books so they can learn more about the animals showcased in this one. And wanting to learn more is always a good thing. Right?

"Scanorama: Amazing Animals" is a clean book with nothing offensive in it. A non-fiction that can keep kids entertained while learning, the X-ray scanner provides a whole new level of fun and education.
