I sat one of my kids down and asked the serious question, "Out of all the 'Busy Builder' books, which one do you like best?"
She couldn't answer. She thought about them all and then said she liked every single one a lot.
Tough life.

"Busy Builders: Airport" teaches kids all about planes and the dynamics of airports. The 32-page booklet is packed full of information about things like how baggage is handled (the illustrated conveyor belt is pretty entertaining) and what happens at security checks. Then it goes on to tell about all the things that have to happen just to get a plane ready for takeoff and how air traffic control works. Basically everything, from the moment passengers arrive at their departing airport, to the time they land and pick up their luggage, is illustrated in full-color and explained in a short, yet well-thought out, manner. The kid-friendly illustrations and easy reading of the booklet make this something every kid can easily become immersed in.

The 3-D airport terminal and models are pretty awesome as well. There's a control tower, a baggage truck, a helicopter, and several planes to assemble. The jumbo jet even comes with its own boarding walkway!

Our set is currently residing on the family room floor. My kids think I'm the best mom ever because I've let them keep this out for days. |
The wings on the planes make this "Busy Builders" building set probably the most delicate of all the sets. My kids have played with this thoroughly and one of the wings has ripped. But then, I do have a two-year-old, so all things destructive are possible. At the same time, my kids have looooved these planes and are continuously putting them together and taking them apart. So maybe it wasn't the two-year-old?
"Busy Builders: Airport" is a full-color, 3D assembly building set and book. It comes with 48 pieces and is geared toward ages 5 and up. It contains nothing offensive and is a great way to learn about the mechanics of airports and planes. It can be purchased for $19.99.
