Little Bird wakes up and wants to sing his spring song. But, oops! He's forgotten what his song is supposed to sound like! He tries mimicking the various sounds he hears in the barnyard, only to attract the farm animals to his side in, "The Song of Spring."
As the pig, dog, donkey, and other animals try to help Little Bird with his plight, he inadvertently makes friends with them. Finally, another bird comes along and the two are able to enjoy friendship with all the barnyard animals while singing their own unique spring songs.
"The Song of Spring" was a fun picture book to read with my littles, but for different reasons. While my four-year-old was riveted by the story, my seven-year-old loved the artwork. She kept pointing out how it looked like different pieces of paper were used to make the pictures. Pointing out all the different textures became very entertaining for her.
